Sixel’s Fight Club, One of the State’s Best Martial Arts Facilities, To Hold Open House

Lac du Flambeau, Wis. – Ever wonder what it takes to train and work your way to the top of some of the best fight circuits around the state and region? Then, don’t miss your opportunity to check out Northern Wisconsin’s best mixed martial organization during the Sixel’s Fight Club’s Open House on May 23 in Sugar Camp.

Sixels Fight Club

Comprised of nearly 30 talented mixed martial artists from around the Northwoods and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Sixel’s Fight Club is rated one of the top organizations in Wisconsin in terms of talent among amateur fighters and for its training facilities. The public is invited to a special open house scheduled from noon – 4 p.m. at the training gym located on Lone Pine Road just off of Highway 17 (approximately 12 miles from Rhinelander and six miles from Eagle River). The event is free and open to all ages.

“We invite anyone interested in mixed martial arts or curious about the training experience to come out and see our group which is well-known and respected throughout the state and on the national stage,” said fight club owner, eighth degree black-belt martial artist and Team USA Pankration President Dave Sixel. “This is an incredible group of athletes who put heart and soul into their training and competitions and they would like to show their fans, media, and the general public what they can do.”

The open house will include the unveiling of the club’s new fight cage, the first such fight cage in any training facility in the area. The cage will allow Sixel’s fighters the opportunity to train for mixed martial arts cage fights in upcoming matches in such venues as the King of the Cage events held at Lake of the Torches Resort Casino in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. Members of the club have been participating in the KOTC as well as other professional events for the past two years and have received financial and promotional support from Lake of the Torches, which helped pay for a portion of the cage.

“We are thrilled to have this first of its kind training cage in this area. MMA cage fighting requires fighters to learn different techniques and to have a whole new perspective on their fight environment,” Sixel said.

Those attending the open house can also watch martial arts demonstrations by some of the fighters that have fought in the King of the Cage events. These demonstrations will include martial artists using a wide variety of techniques, including jujitsu, wrestling, and boxing.

Along with the demonstrations and the cage unveiling, visitors will enjoy free food and refreshments and will be eligible for numerous raffle prizes, including free tickets to upcoming performances at Lake of the Torches Resort Casino. For more information about the open house, please call Dave Sixel at 715-617-6170.
