King of the Cage Growing
Strong
I had the opportunity to speak with King of
the Cage owner Terry Trebilcock the day of
the show. First I want to thank Terry for taking the time to speak with me
as on fight day it is crazy for Terry, as he has to make sure contracts are
signed, fighters have all weighed in, getting the hotel rooms for the
fighters, collecting ticket money, and arranging the ringside seating just
to name a few of Terry’s tasks on fight day.
Terry is so busy he often forgets to eat on fight day, however Terry has
several friends including myself who are always looking out for making sure
he eats.
Terry has been running King of the Cage since 1999 and I joined the King of
the Cage family shortly after 1999. I have seen King of the Cage grow
annually with over 40 plus King of the Cage events World Wide including
Australia, Canada, Singapore, U.K. and 17 U.S. states including Michigan,
California, Nevada, New Mexico, Chicago, Arizona, Florida, Ohio,
Indianapolis, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.
Terry is also working on other States.

What most fans and even the fighters do not understand is that this is a
business. It is a business that takes a lot of planning and late nights. Of
course Terry, has a solid organizational structure as well as the front line
“A-Team” Let me just give you a little insight as to how much it takes to
run a show. There are a multitude of tasks such as; Venue, Security, Ring
Girls, Ring Doctors, Judges, Referees, Commentators, Merchandise, Ticket
Sales, Lunches for Fighters, Weigh-Ins, Hotel Rooms, Travel Itineraries,
Promoters, Fighter Contracts, Ring Side and VIP Seating, Sponsors, Rules
Meeting, Wrist Bands, Fight Schedule, Media Passes, Media Campaigns,
Cameraman, Disc Jockey, Putting the Cage and Venue Seating together, and of
course the Fighter after party. This is just the short list; there are
roughly 84 plus different components to running a production. You can see
why it is not easy to run a show and it takes about $200,000 to put on a
King of the Cage event.
King of the Cage is the only MMA organization that puts on 18-20 fights per
event giving the fans all their monies worth. I am glad to be a part of the
King of the Cage Family and glad to say that Terry Trebilcock is a good
Friend. I will always be in the King of the Cage Family for Life!
