Interview with
Aaron "SLAM" Witherspoon
On a chariot led by angels and without fury in his heart and mind, a warrior
named Aaron "SLAM" Witherspoon found his way to the caged
battlefield. With the gold of a champion around his waist and the gold of
"The King" in his heart, there is no fear but only promise in the outcome of
the war set before him. "SLAM" Witherspoon has become a superstar in the
Mixed Martial Arts World by way of his endless victories inside the cage as
well as his victories in the broad vast world outside the arena. Entrusted
by King Of The Cage and "SLAM" himself I am very proud to have had this
conversation with the champ himself.
Jo-Jo: Did you always see yourself as a
fighter and did you always somehow just know you would be doing this?
SLAM: I was destined to be doing this. There's not one thing about
this that I do not like.
Jo-Jo: As a fighter you are inspiring a
grip of hungry Mixed Martial Artists. What is your message to them?
SLAM: I am aspiring to another individual...I'm not much of a
talker...God is number one. My first priority is Jesus Christ.
Jo-Jo: In your own words, what would you
say is different about you than any other person in this world despite your
prolific stance as a Mixed Martial Artist?
SLAM: I don't compare myself to other individuals. I give my life to
the things that I love. I don't want the things I love to go away. I've been
doing this thing for two years and I'm willing to outwork anybody else. I am
not a "talker"....I'm a person who "does things". I provide for the fans and
the people all around that want to see me do my thing.
Jo-Jo: How do you feel about fighting in
KOTC and this great organization you have done so well in and became
champion in?
SLAM: There are only good things and good solutions. I feel that
Jesus Christ has given me a life I wish to do good things with. I define
myself through fighting first and that is the position that I'm in. Fighting
came to me by Gods' Hands and I will serve this purpose. I am with a great
training team and I have great people like Colin Oyama in my corner.. so
they keep me strong as well.
Jo-Jo: TEAM OYAMA!!!
SLAM: We do everything....
Jo-Jo: You dominated your last fight in
less than something like 11 seconds the last time you fought. You are just
runnin' through cats these days....
SLAM: I expect the kind of performance that I had. Fighting gives me
the opportunity to prove that I'm everything to the people that love and
know who I am.
Jo-Jo: Well man, I am thankful for your
time. Have a beautiful night and keep reigning!!!
Aaron "SLAM' Witherspoon is going to continue to move mountains by
way of the strength of the internal forces he is driven by. His support team
and individualistic approach assure us all as fans that he will continue to
rock the cage and thrive at the top of the food chain in Mixed Martial Arts.
